

The building is also certified by the Soil Association. These facilities are available for hire and a food Technologist is at hand to assist. They will help you scale up your recipes, train you in the use of the equipment, set processing conditions - all necessary for your manufacture.
The technical facility is designed to allow food producers to manufacture products on small industrial scale.

Dairy UnitThe dairy unit at FCW has 3 processing areas, raw pasteurisation, cheese making & main processing. The unit has separate chilled and freezer space plus an independent wash room from all other areas. Due to high demand for our original dairy unit FCW has extended the dairy to accommodate more clients per day and maximise the availability for new and existing clients.

Dairy Training is currently available at FCW for hard and soft cheese making with yogurt and ice- cream due to be introduced in the autumn subject to demand. |

Meat Cutting and Processing PlantThe Meat Cutting Plant at Food Centre Wales is fully licensed by the Meat Hygiene Service permitting sale of products to retail outlets as well as final consumer. Like the rest of FCW it is fully licensed by the Soil Association encouraging organic processors to use the facilities. There are two Processing Rooms in the Meat Cutting Plant: The first for basic cutting, curing, packing, presentation and labeling of meat cuts, cured and marinated meats.
All knives, chain mail gloves and aprons, saws, bowls, utensils, trays and trolleys are supplied so you don't need to worry about getting the right equipment. Storage facilities, the hire of the Meat Cutting Plant includes refrigerated hanging of your carcass for up to one week, dry ingredients and packaging, chilled and frozen storage for your finished product. The Food Centre Wales also runs meat cutting courses with practical based workshops in the cutting plant allowing meat cutting skills to be developed with hands on experience | ||||
Multi purpose process areasAt FCW there are two multi functional processing areas. Each area is equipped with commercial manufacturing equipment, designed with maximum flexibility in mind and allows a wide range of products to be commercially produced. These flexible processing areas are excellent in allowing start up businesses to scale up kitchen recipes into a larger more commercial, more automated and more efficient production. Organic products are welcomed at Food Centre Wales and all the processing facilities are fully licensed by the Soil Association. Examples of some of the products, which can be produced using these facilities, are: soups, ready meals, sauces, drinks, cakes, baked goods, pastry products, fresh pasta, preserves (jams & chutneys), pizzas, pies desserts (mousses & cheesecakes) biscuits, pasties, vegetable & fruit preparation, cereals roasted vegetables breaded products, mayonnaise dressings, and confectionary.
