The self-contained food processing units are designed to assist start-up businesses take the first step towards increasing production and developing their businesses.

Innovative food businesses can hire these high food grade facilities for up to 5 years, which helps them to increase production and grow their businesses without having to outlay premises costs.

 

Objective 1 European Funding match funded with National Assembly for Wales Local Generation Fund assisted the construction of the 4 Incubator Units at Food Centre Wales, which are a unique facility in Wales.  Since their construction in 2005, the units have assisted countless start-up businesses grow and flourish into very successful food processing businesses, supplying throughout Wales, the UK and even exporting abroad.

Availability is limited and any enquiries will be added to a waiting list and notified when an Incubator Unit becomes available.
On application, interested businesses would need to send a current Business Plan and a final selection process will be made for a successful tenant.

 

Food Centre Wales boasts a purpose built conference room with state of the art SMART board technology and air conditioning. The room can accommodate seminars for 40 people seated theatre style and workshops for 20.  A comprehensive range of presentation aids are included and provision can be made for buffet style lunches upon request.  A meeting room for smaller groups of up to 10 people is also available at the Centre.

Food Centre Wales offers unrivalled facilities for food manufacturers to develop new products.

The same facilities give those looking to add value to their own produce an opportunity to create new food products. The 880m2 Research and Development building consists of extensive manufacturing facilities available for commercial hire and developing and trialling new products. 

The 7 separate processing areas are all fitted to the highest standards and can be used to manufacture a wide range of products including dairy, meat, confectionary, vegetable and bakery.  Storage space for chilled and frozen goods is also provided.

Expert Food Technologists are on hand to assist the use of all our processing areas and equipment. They will help you scale up your recipes, train you in the use of the equipment and set processing conditions - all necessary for your manufacture.  The technical facility is designed to allow food producers to manufacture products on a small industrial scale.

Unique to Wales, the centre also boasts four individual Modular Food Production Units which provide manufacturing facilities for start-ups ready to use.
